Christmas

Well, soon it will be christmas. Been really busy as of late with all the usual stuff. However things should start to settle down and I should be able to relax. I'm looking forward to going home and seeing my family. I haven't seem some of them in a really long time.

Anyway, below is a picture I was inspired to make while Geoff was reading "How the Grinch stole christmas". Have a great holiday.

Art, and more art...

Well, here is all the stuff I have been "hiding":

2 Rembrandts:
old man

finished kid

and one Henry Fuseli:
The Nightmare

The Fuseli is actually missing the "night mare" but I was low on time. But its alright, I think Amanda turned out pretty good. Though the imp needed a little more fine tuning.

I made all these for Alison's annual Halloween Party. I won best costume for my E.T. homage. I think it was the "heart light" that really put me over the top. Though Amanda looked great in her costume.

Below is a movie that I "created" at jibjab.com. You can make one yoruself as well if you become a member. There are more than just political movies as well.

Geoff Painting

Well, I've had this planned for a bit. I wanted to give this to Geoff for his birthday (Nov. 2nd) but he wants to go camping that day and I just really wanted to get this thing off my hands. So when we went to worlds of fun, I gave Geoff his present early:

He seemed to like it. A little speechless if I remember correctly. Now I just have to finish all the other stuff I have to do...

Praise the Mutilated World

I had someone ask me for help with doing an illustration for this poem, so I am posting it here. To see a bigger version, go to my flickr site.

I tried to keep it simple so that the image wouldn't interfere with the actual poem.

I'm still alive

For the 2 or so people who may actually look at this: I am in fact, alive.

I have been very busy with some painting and other such things. I can't show you my paintings yet... in theory... I could probably put them up and it wouldn't be a bid deal... but I don't think I should.

Anyway, after the 27th I promise I will put something up so you can see what I have been up too. Seems like everyone wants me to do something for them this time or year.

Oh well, its nice to be needed.

This is the first in a series of pictures that shows the progression of one of my paintings. More to follow.

More Zombies

One more Zombie comic. Though I am not sure when I will be able to do another one because I have a feeling I won't have very much free time soon. Anyway, I hope you like it:

Just for fun

Mike Wieringo recently died. And while I was looking through his deviant art page, I found this picture, and decided to have some fun and draw a version for myself:

New Stuff

Been an interesting few weeks. Good news first, Lee is a dad:

On July 27th, Bethany gave birth to Eleanor, who even by baby standards is adorable. She was 7 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long.

As for the bad news, my grandfather died this past friday morning. My one consolation is that I got to see him one last time when Amanda and I went to Nantucket almost a month ago.

So a lots been going on. I recently finished my project in the basement and a few days ago I finished another apt 9 comic:

Zombie Fetus

Well Geoff really liked the zombie comic with him in it. REALLY liked. Enough to write a song about it. So he asked me to draw a "zombie fetus":

More people are moving

Well, Jeff and Michelle are going to move to Seattle. And as happy as I am for them, I don't want anyone else to go. Our group seems to get smaller by the year. But I think thats too be expected. So I figured I would make another zombie comic about them:

Paintings n' Such

Well, the big thing that I have been working on was: a wedding portrati for Andrew and Alison.

I wanted to surprize them and I am pretty sure that I did. They seem happy with it. I had them too long to stay happy with them, however. The curse of being artistic, I believe.

Entire Portrait

We got first in our soccer league, which means we get t-shirts. And this weekend is the tournament, where we will be playing harder teams and if that weren't bad enough, I have two of those game this weekend...

Also, Vaupel will be in this weekend. He has a wedding here in KC so he is staying with us until sunday. It will be nice to catch up with him and play a little golf.

Zombie Comic

Not much is new. Had some ups and downs, though. Our basement flooded, but I am pretty sure that I have taken care of that so it shouldn't happen again. My soccer team is 4-2 (tied for first). I scored a goal (even though I am a defender), but unfortunatly it was taken away because of a (controversal) foul. My mom is going to come in for my birthday this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing her.

The comic below is something I have been thinking about doing for awhile. I have a bunch of storylines thought out, but this is the one I liked the most. Not sure if I will actually do the rest yet, but who knows...

The groups are:

-Kevin Geoff
-Tim Andrew
-Matt Kristen
-Amanda Alison Bri
-David J
-Lee Bethany

Wii!

Well, I finally got my wii, and everyone loves it. Anyone who has tried it ADORES it. I come home and my wife is bowling/boxing. My boss liked it so much that he bought one for the office. Now lunch time is wii time. Its really weird to see how much people do enjoy this thing. Get a nice little work out from it as well.

Apparetly the Turtle vs Bunny comic was well recieved. Even Joe who does the strip really gave it a glowing review.

Anyway, getting ready to do some painting in the house. Got to start sometime, right? Oh well. I distract myself with the wii and doing fun little drawings like this:

TVB comic

I really enjoy Turtle vs Bunny. I find a lot of creativity and freedom there. So I made a comic. It seems to me that this kind of rivalry only comes from old friends who no longer get along, and it either has to be reconciled or destry each other. I thought about ending it after the shot on the manlte, but I changed my mind.

I liked the concept so much, I did these drawings for fun.

More Stuff

Nothing really new going on. Just been awhile since I last posted, and I also finished this comic, so I thought I would throw it up. True story.

Been working on something that I can't talk about here. Not that they would see it because I am sure they don't check this site, but because if you want something to remain secret, don't talk about it. Why bring it up you say? Good question.

By the way Pan's Labyrinth is awesome, but dark and surprizingly brutal. Go see it, but remember that I warned you/
