More Rigby

Lee it out of town on vacation, and before he wanted to start more of the regular Rigby, he wrote a script and asked me to draw it, which is what you will find here. I think it turned out pretty well.

Below is a little "preview" of the comic in case you need some other reason to check it out.

Rigby

For those of you that don't know, I have been helping a friend these past few months with his webcomic, Rigby the barbarian. All I do is take care of the colors and maybe at a critique here and there. It's his baby, and I am just glad to be helping. You can see it here.

So much Going On

Got a lot going on. I have a lot of plates spinning, as it were.

My trip was very eventful and a lot of fun. I'm not going to go into that right now because that would take too long. Maybe the next post, perhaps.

As for whats going on right now, I have some hope repair done, and more to do. Had to buy a new dryer all of a sudden (don't buy Ingles). I am really loving LOST, but then again I always do. I am very excited to see the end, but dreading it at the same time. Definitely my favorite show ever. But I am still trying to keep my "artist eye" sharp, so I did this:

What's Opera, Doc

In case you didn't know, it's from "What's Opera, Doc?" One of the most admired pieces of animation. If you've never seen the cartoon, I have a link here.

Bit and Run

I love this:

"bit and run" -- Mario's Ladder from Cory Godbey on Vimeo.

If you like that, there is some really cool stuff at his blog. Not all of it is retro nintendo stuff, but its cool none the less.

God of War 3

Lots of stuff going on at the moment. Trying to get ready for my trip in just over a week while making sure everything else gets taken care of. We have to finish our taxes, Lucky is sick, and I have been really busy at work.

It hasn't been all work though. I downloaded some Resident Evil 5 content and got to play that with my friend Travis, which is always fun. I am getting really psyched for God of War 3. Click here if you want to know what I am talking about. It comes out the day before I leave for a week, so I am going to have to wait a little longer to find out how things wrap up, but that okay.

There is a contest of at destructoid that I entered. You have to use your photoshopping or other photo editing skills to create an image of Kratos fighting someone from the MMA. I don't care about the MMA at all, but the prize for the contest is a free ps3 with a copy of God of War 3. Amanda wasn't home last night so this is what I whipped up.

Here's hoping.

Girl with the Pearl Earring

No Da Vinci this thime. Johannes Vermeer,

Girl with the Peal Earring

Amanda has been working a lot so I've had a lot of time to myself which is fun for a bit but I do miss her. Not much is new. Though I am greatly looking forward to my trip next month. The one downside is that God of War 3 comes out the day before I leave. Not a big deal, but I am just going to have to wait a little longer.

More Da Vinci

I always thought this painting was a little weird. I figured she was the "crazy cat lady" of the 1500's.... but whatever. I actually do like the painting otherwise I wouldn't have drawn it.

Not much going on, but I can just feel the home repair projects on the horizon. I know one that should be relatively quick and easy, but you never know. I just need it to warm up a bit so that I can actually do it.

Oh, I forgot to mention that in march Amanda and I will be heading to Phoenix for a week, and at some point in that week we will be in Vegas for awhile. We're not much for gambling, but we are going to get to see the Circ De Sole, "Love" based on the Beatles music. This alone makes Amanda even more excited than she preciously was (if that was possible). Also I finally get to go west of Salina Kansas.

One is light one is dark

Sides

If you are not watching LOST you are missing out.

As you can tell I am a big LOST fan. The show is great, but half the fun is just talking with other fans about what you think is going on. I recently had a LOST premiere party at our house. The new season is very promising and I am excited and a little saddened to know that this is all coming to a close.

Very early in the shows first season there is a scene I keep coming back too which told you a lot about the show without telling you anything (which LOST is very good about doing). You can see that scene here.

It's not too late to start watching, but you are WAY behind.

Da Vinci

Much to Amanda's displeasure, I have been playing a bunch of Assassins Creed 2 as of late. I am enjoying the game, but the setting is really what is doing a lot for me. It is set in 15 century Italy and one of the characters you interact with is none other than Leonardo Da Vinci. You also can buy different works of Renaissance art from dealers in different cities. All of the work that you collect is assembled in your own villa. Of all the stuff you do in a video game, this could very well be my favorite. I love buying all this art. Too bad that there is only about 40 or so works you can buy...

Anyway, all of this is giving me a hankering for so good ol' renaissance art from that period. I did a sketch of Da Vinci's and put it on flickr, but I think this looks better and all thats been done to alter it is add sepia tint:

Hey! A POST!

Well I guess I am being consisting about updating about every month. Anyway, not a whole lot has changed as of late. "Same old same old," as I tell my parents. Though I have to confess I am SUPER excited about LOST premiering in a few weeks. Seriously.

A good friend of mine Lee was brave enough to get up on stage and do some stand up. He did very well, though I am sure I am a little biased. But seriously, given the amount of time he had and the fact that it was his first time I really think he did very well. Funny enough, he was the ONLY clean act. Lots of 'rape' jokes. Not funny... To see his stand up, go here.

The pic below is just for fun. But really, where is my damn hoverboard?!
